On a small number of products back orders are allowed. We do this when we have incoming inventory and know we will be able to ship product in the next 7-10 days, this allows customers to get orders in to reserve units. This is especially true with in demand items, like the Sapphire 7900 XTX GPUs, or NVidia 4080/4090 parts.
